  • Medical expense claims can be submitted online at www.chubbclaims.ie.
  • Please review the relevant Insurance Product Information Document (IPID) before submitting your claim. Depending on the plan, an excess of up to €200 may apply.

A policy excess is the portion of a claim that you pay yourself. The insurer pays the amount above the excess for any valid claim. Check your policy documents for the specific excess that applies.

Medicover (course ≤ 1 year) provides medical expenses limits from €1 million to €5 million, access to public & private hospitals, family compassionate visits and EU travel up to 14 days. Underwritten by Chubb European Group SE.

Study in Ireland (course > 1 year) combines an Irish Life Health policy (hospital/day case benefits, diagnostics) with a Chubb accident & repatriation policy (repatriation, personal liability, EU holidays up to 14 days).

Medicover: Visit any local GP, pay the bill, and claim back via chubbclaims.ie. Emergency bills over €250 can be arranged via the medical emergency helpline +353 (0)1 440 1762.

Study in Ireland: Use the Irish Life Health app or email heretohelp@irishlifehealth.ie to start your claim.

Pre‑existing conditions and routine check‑ups are excluded. Excesses apply.

Coverage for private hospitals depends on the policy selected. Check the IPID and Policy Wording for Medicover, or contact the Irish Life claims team before private care under a Study in Ireland Health policy.

Yes. For Medicover you can purchase a separate policy per spouse/child (make sure you also hold a valid Medicover policy for the same period). For Study in Ireland Health Insurance, contact us to add dependants for an additional premium.
